Study Award 2017

Congratulations to SERA HARTLEY who is the recipient of BPW Franklin Study Award of $3,000.  Sera is studying Science, majoring in Genetics and minoring in Theatre Studies and Physiology.  A talented, well rounded young women who has been very active in many school and community activities and groups.  Sera was unable to attend the awards dinner as she had already left to Palmerston North to start her 3 year degree. We wish Sera all the best in her studies and hope she has a great time in Palmy.
Additional Award
An additional award of $750 was presented to RACHEL SULLIVAN who is continuing her studies to complete a Masters in Clinical Physiology.  Rachel is a remarkable young women who is passionate about her field of study and what she can offer the community.  We wish Rachel every success in her remaining studies.

Background

Since 1987, BPW Franklin has presented a cash Study Award to assist a woman in our local community who is striving to build on her own potential.  The recipient is a woman who is a past or present resident of the Franklin area, and who is undertaking a course at a recognised University, Polytechnic or College of Education in New Zealand or retraining following an absence from employment.

The award is presented to the woman who best shows she has achieved and is continuing to achieve in her chosen study and/or career, who shows she needs the monetary support to continue her studies, who contributes to her community through service such as volunteering to community groups and who has the personality to represent BPW Franklin and its ideals.

Applications for the 2018 Award will available from the 17th October 2017.
