Awarded to a woman with connections to Franklin who is a New Zealand resident. She will be pursuing tertiary education at a recognised NZ Institution in 2024 or re-training following an absence from employment. Awarded to a woman who best shows her achievements. It is not only dependent on her achievements but also her need. She will have connections with Franklin and is a past or present resident of the Franklin area. OVERVIEW
Since 1987 BPW Franklin has presented a one-off cash Study Award to assist a woman with connections to the Franklin community striving to build on their potential. The 2025 recipient will be a woman who has connections with Franklin or is a past or present resident of the Franklin area, and who is undertaking a course at a recognised University, Polytechnic or College of Education in New Zealand or retraining following an absence from employment.
The bursary is awarded to the woman who best shows she has achieved and is continuing to achieve in her chosen study and / or career, who shows she needs this monetary support to continue her studies, who contributes to her community through service such as volunteering to community groups (which does not necessarily have to be related to the course of study) and who has the personality to represent BPW Franklin and its ideals.
